A while back I decided to shift from using post type icons next to each blog post, in a tumblr style fashion, and instead switch to using icons for each of the four categories on the site. The icons are actually the Font Awesome typeface.

Maybe as custom post types receive a face-lift in 3.6 I will switch back to custom post types, but this works much better stylistically and architecturally for now.
